About the Artist

I was born and raised in a small Swabian town in Germany. I moved to the United States in 1984 and made Florida my new home. When visiting in Europe, I always seek out doll museums, shows, and accessory manufacturers to get inspiration and to procure vintage fabrics and other materials of high quality. Whether it's an Empress Sissi hand mirror or fine porcelain miniatures, it's the little things that can make a big difference in bringing a new creation to life.
I started making modern reproduction dolls in 1994 and acquired a great appreciation and love for antique reproductions. I have received Masters and Grandmasters certifications for antique reproduction dolls and have won numerous first prizes, including Best of Category for German reproductions.

I began sculpting original dolls in 1998 with my tutelage including a variety of sculpting techniques taught by some of the industry masters. My sculpting style evolves with each new face I sculpt and I get to enjoy this hands on experience with each new creation.

I debuted my original dolls in 2001 and received a DOTY Industry Choice Award for my doll Erika. Since then I have received numerous DOTY Industry Choice Awards along with many Awards of Excellence. Each award is very special to me and receiving them has been a great honor.

In 2008, I have two small dolls named Dori and Sela in a series called "Moving On". This was an apt name for the series as I moved to Georgia this year leaving behind the beautiful state of Florida, my home for over twenty years. I also have two one-of-a-kinds named Jaqueline and Celia. Experiencing new things in life is always exciting and with change we grow and reflect on all we have.

The whole creative experience has been wonderful, as has the warm appreciation I've received from doll collectors and Fine Doll Shops throughout the U.S.A.
